Leah Anonuevo

Leah is a vocalist based in the Bay Area. She holds a B.A. in Music from California State University, Sacramento, and certificates in Commercial Music, Jazz Studies, and Music Technology from Las Positas College. She was a member of Sac State’s award winning vocal jazz ensemble, Vox Now, winner of the California Jazz Championships in the college jazz choir category. Under Gaw Vang Williams, Leah studied and performed repertoire rooted in jazz tradition while exploring contemporary vocal styles. She also gigs locally with experience in jazz, contemporary styles, musical theater, and classical voice.

Leah hopes to create eager attitudes towards learning music by providing an environment where students are allowed to freely express themselves and make mistakes without judgment. And to allow students to work at their own pace while pushing them out of their comfort zone, because everyone is more capable than what they let their minds limit themselves to. She hopes to not only work on technique and theory with students, but also the fundamental aspect of telling a story when performing.
