Juliana Moonette Manrique holds a Master of Music degree with specializations in piano performance,
piano pedagogy, and music education. She began her piano journey at the age of four, guided by her
mother—a dedicated piano and voice teacher. Juliana earned both her bacheloer and graduate degrees
with high distinction from the prestigious women’s college at Saint Scholastica’s College in Manila,
Philippines.
As a tenured music professor and former Chair of the Music Department at Saint Scholastica’s College,
Juliana developed keyboard and piano curriculum for college-level music majors and led the creation
of various Certificate of Music programs. Her academic contributions include international piano lecture
recitals and music education research presentations at institutions such as the Guildhall School of Music
and Drama (London), the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna, the University of
Birmingham, and the University of Glasgow. Her most recent research on music performance and well-
being was published by Oxford University Press in 2022.
At Pleasanton Academy of Music, Juliana offers private piano lessons for students of all ages and skill
levels—including beginner, intermediate, and advanced piano lessons. She provides a personalized
learning experience tailored to each student’s needs. Her teaching combines strong foundations in sight-
reading, music theory, and technical development through scales, chords, and stylistic interpretation.
Juliana has over a decade of experience teaching piano lessons in Pleasanton and the broader East Bay
area. She works with a wide range of students, offering piano lessons for kids, piano lessons for
children, and piano lessons for adults. Her piano classes for children foster early musical literacy,
while her lessons for teens and adults encourage expressive performance and lifelong enjoyment of music.
Dedicated to student achievement, she prepares learners for success in ABRSM (UK) and MTAC
Certificate of Merit exams. Juliana believes that piano studies should be an inspiring and meaningful
journey—one that helps students reach their full potential and cultivates joy in musical expression.
