Ian Jensen is a talented guitarist hailing from San Ramon. With a passion for music that knows no bounds, Ian has developed his skills to perform in various venues across the Bay Area and beyond. Ian’s musical journey is as diverse as his repertoire, spanning genres from rock to jazz. He has lent his talent to renowned groups such as Swing Gives you Wings, The Las Positas Fusion Combo, and the East Bay Jazz High School All Stars.
Currently pursuing an AA-T in music at Las Positas College, Ian continues to hone his craft and expand
his musical horizons. Under the mentorship of esteemed instructors like Steve Smyth for rock and metal,
and Jack Eskridge and Ryan Pate for jazz guitar, Ian has immersed himself in a world of musical
exploration.
Ian’s teaching philosophy revolves around laying a solid foundation in technique and fretboard theory. He believes that this groundwork empowers his students to express themselves fluently and apply their knowledge in improvisatory or compositional settings.
