Ian Craig is a pianist and cellist who lives in Livermore, California. From there he took private cello lessons to expand his understanding and background in music for five years. He has played for numerous groups ranging from performing as first chair in the orchestra, playing piano in jazz bands, accompanying choirs, as well as performing with many other groups. He has performed in many competitions with both his work in cello and piano. He continues to grow in his musical practice and art currently by playing for weddings and performing with bands at different venues.

Ian Craig is taking classes and working on completing his Bachelor’s degree at California State University East Bay. He has a beginner and intermediate piano/cello pedagogy certificate from Las Positas College and has played for numerous groups ranging from performing as first chair in the orchestra, playing piano in jazz bands, accompanying choirs, as well as performing with many other groups. He has performed in many competitions with both his work in cello and piano. Ian began teaching private piano lessons at the age of sixteen and has continued since then. He has found that with his young age he is also better able to connect with young students and relate with them by sharing common interests. Ian believes that every student’s personal interests and ideas lead them in how they learn. He finds that it is important to make the learning experience special for each and every student. Through his teaching, he hopes to bring about a deeper appreciation and understanding of music in his students. Ian will teach with utmost respect, kindness, and patience to help his students to progress in their talents while making learning fun and enjoyable at the same time. His teaching will consist of his background, understanding, and passion in music to help create a clear pathway in the student’s pursuit of music
