Ashley has distinguished herself as a teacher, soloist, musician and orchestral performer. Shehasdedicatedherlifeto teaching children and adults alike the true joy and therapeutic benefits in making music. When it comes to teaching she has 7 years experience, both in person and online. She has been known to fit her teaching style to each individual student, and add in her own pieces of culturally important pieces to keep people encouraged and engaged in the learning process.
When it comes to performing, she has had the opportunity to perform at Disneyland and work with Disney conductor Bret Simmons in the recording studio. Ashley studied viola at Sycamore Strings Academy for seven years under Mr. Goran Berg. As well as learning numerous stringed instruments and styles under Nadja Salerno-Sonnenberg for 2 years at the Loyola College of Music in New Orleans. Ashley used to perform with a Chamber Orchestra that performed classical concerts for various venues and formal occasions. This includes performing as principal violist and a soloist for the United Nations 70th Anniversary Celebration in San Francisco with the Sycamore Chamber Orchestra and other international musicians. Ashley is also a performer-turned-onsite-mentor for the Livermore-Amador Symphony Youth Orchestra for a decade. Her ensemble experience includes providing live music for everything, from vineyard wine tastings, to classic movies such as “Psycho.” Her favorite experience was being employed for pit orchestras by Castro Valley Center for the Arts production of ‘Cinderella’ and by Diablo Valley College Theater for ‘Seussical the Musical’ for the Peter Pan Foundation to raise money for Children’s Hospital in Oakland.
Ashley supports and guides students to successfully complete tests and exams like MTAC, ABRSM and RCM exams
