“Casual” Saturday at the End of March: A Performance to Remember

At Pleasanton Academy of Music, “casual” Saturdays are anything but ordinary. On the last Saturday of March, our very own Ms. Liya and her student Felix Zhang gave a breathtaking performance of the complete piano concerto by Prokofiev at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music. It was a stunning display of talent, dedication, and musical excellence. And yes, this was a student performance!
We often receive new inquiries asking, “How often do your students perform?” As the proud director of what many call the best music school in East Bay, California, my honest (and impressive!) answer is: our students literally perform somewhere every single week.
With over a hundred students actively participating in competitions, concerts, masterclasses, and recitals—not just locally in California but across the United States and even winning competitions in Europe—keeping up with posting all these achievements is a challenge in itself.
