Connor Moen

Connor has always shared a profound connection with music. His parents, recognizing the importance of music in their children’s lives, initiated piano lessons for him at the tender age of 5. Connor’s musical journey led him to join the middle school band, initially as a pianist, but his thirst for musical knowledge prompted him to venture into playing other instruments, such as the clarinet, drums, and guitar. Throughout his high school years, Connor fully immersed himself in music, participating in various musical ensembles and groups. He was a member of the symphonic ensemble, marching band, drum corps, jazz band, community band, and various small ensembles. As a testament to his musical prowess, Connor was honored with the prestigious “Quincy Jones Award for Musicianship” during his senior year.

Driven by his desire to transform his passion for music into a lifelong career, Connor enrolled at the University of the Pacific Conservatory of Music in 2010. During his time at the university, he continued to expand his musical horizons, gaining a comprehensive understanding of all facets of music. Connor’s musical versatility was evident as he could be found performing bass clarinet with the symphonic wind ensemble, managing sound at the Take 5 Jazz Club, premiering his original compositions, strumming the ukulele at acoustic shows, or contributing to studio recordings.

In 2014, Connor graduated from the University of the Pacific with a Bachelor of Music in Music Composition and a minor in Music Management. The following year, he was invited to teach MCOM 009: Introduction to Music Technology and MMGT 009: Musical Elements at the University of the Pacific. Over the subsequent three years, Connor’s love for teaching blossomed. To further enhance his teaching skills and effectively incorporate emerging technologies into his instruction, he applied for and was accepted into Berklee College of Music’s master’s program in Music Production, Technology, and Innovation.

In 2019, Connor proudly earned his Master’s Degree, graduating magna cum laude. Afterward, he returned to the California Bay Area. Presently, Connor serves as an instructor in Music Technology and Songwriting at Las Positas and Chabot Community Colleges. Additionally, he provides private instrumental lessons, sharing his extensive musical knowledge and expertise with eager learners.
