Amelita Guevara attained her master’s degree in education from California State University East Bay, with her research thesis on the power of music towards the holistic education and values formation of young people. Coming from a family of musicians, she was trained in the classical German piano method at Saint Bridget’s College, Philippines, where she obtained her Bachelor of Music degree, emphasis in Piano Performance and Music Education. As a piano educator for more than 20 years in Northern California, she teaches diverse ages from 4 years to 60 years old, from beginner to advanced levels, using varied methods and styles, according to the achievable goals of both students and parents. Her accomplishments as piano teacher are proven by majority of her students consistently passing the MTAC certificate of merit with several making it to the honors level. She promotes music performance not only for public piano recitals but also for community outreach and church service.

According to Amelita: “I guide my students of in deep enjoyment of music in each piano lesson, so that whether music becomes their vocation or avocation, their experience of music can add to their personal and social sense of meaning and self-fulfillment in their lives.” As a professional piano faculty, Amelita is patient, innovative, fun and deeply committed in delivering excellent quality of musical education.
